Housing and placemaking: Waaihoek Re-assessed

Waaihoek is a residential area established in 1846 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Bloemfontein experienced a population boom between 1890 and 1904, from 1900 onwards, Waaihoek grew three times more than its size and led to overcrowding.
